R. I. P. Nelson Mandela <3

Nelson Mandela a wonderful man. He lived from July 18 1918 to December 5. His background was South African and he was President of South Afria. He was South Africa's first black chief executive and his government focused mainly on racism, poverty and inequality. Mandela served over 27 years in prison starting in 1962 and ending in 1990. One interesting this is that his born name was Rolihlahla meaning in his language "troublemaker". On his very first day of school his teacher have each of the students a English name and his happened to be nelson although he is not sure why.
The reason we celebrate his day is because he made such a great impact on the world today. He taught us not to be racist to share to learn and to treat people properly. I think that he was a very wise and brae man and he will be deeply missed.

  1. Kalaya, I like how you blended facts from Mandela's life in a paragraph into your paragraph answering the query, "why is the world celebrating Nelson Mandela's life?" Your ideas and facts are there but can be difficult to understand as there are several spelling errors and some missing words. To help improve your editing and proofreading try reading aloud before you post and also typing your draft in a word processing program like MS Word so that you can use spelling and grammar check. Always save your work in word as well. This way if someone makes an error or Blogger has a glitch, then you still have a copy of your writings. Good job at posting a visual image to enhance your post and this is one of the most popular quotes from Mandela.
